Reminder: Father's Day is June 15

Don't forget to celebrate your Dad or Father-of-your-Children next month. We've got your Father's Day cards:

And if he's a man who still writes letters/notes, why not order him a set of personalized cards? We'll use our collection of vintage, metal type and set his name, which will be deeply printed into the soft cotton cards. It's a very thoughtful gift to give.

One of our most popular!
Don't worry, we have other designs available.
Here's a gift for you: save 15% off your order of $50 or more with coupon code DAD15 (code expires on 5.31.14) when ordering from shopinviting.com

Cheers,
ashley

The Violet Crown Festival + New Things!

It was so nice visiting with those of you who came out on Saturday and braved the heat! I didn't get to run around the festival and check out the other vendors, but it looked like a good variety of creators!

Changed up the outdoor set up a bit; love the hanging pegboard!
We have one more show this month, on Saturday, and I must say, I'm looking forward to the break. Am behind on designs for this season, and have more new designs to print for the Summer Shop Update on June twentieth.

You might have seen these on instagram; they'll be available for sale online on June 20:
Art Nouveau carnation note cards, based on a vintage image.
Parasol thank you cards, original parasol design.
And there are more to come. Friday's project will be pretty (maybe there will be a snapshot on instagram that day), and Wednesday's project is to reprint some pretty birthday cards in colors inspired by this poster:
Hello, Mr. Newman! Love the pink and gray in this Cannes poster.
Cheers,
ashley

Still More Added to the Shop

A lot of these items haven't been available online before. You're welcome!

Most of these below were printed using vintage print blocks. The amount of detail they put into them is incredible.

These are all 4bar sized, so perfect for short notes, and are available to purchase HERE.

Have a fantastic day!
Cheers,
ashley

Shop Update: October - Lots of goodies!

Friday was such a great day- successful, happy printing in the morning and pairing/packing/pricing in the afternoon. X-files and Burn Notice to keep me amused while working.

And what came from that successful morning and earlier that week? These:

Folded Note Cards with Tina Fey's Quote
Folded Note Cards with Coco Chanel's Quote
10x8 print, created custom for a friend. Made some for the shop, too.
You know that car that parked so badly you couldn't get out? Yeah. That's what these are for.
Perfect for apologies and embarrassing tales...
Smaller size of our dahlia merci cards.
Robot birthday card.
Birthday post cards, 2-pack. Perfect when birthdays sneak up on you.
All are available at the online store but some have very limited quantities, so shop quickly. Feel free to share with friends/family/coworkers who you think might enjoy these, as well. The more the merrier!
And as usual, it's free shipping for orders over $75!

Cheers and thanks for all your support,
ashley

Show Prep While Weak

Something blew in last weekend that has just wiped me out. And with the Summer Show this weekend, the timing is just terrible! Prepping for the show with a cold/sinus infection/mega-allergies has been no fun but I finally had the strength and energy for one last print-run today (with royal blue ink).
I'm just glad I got the majority of it done before this hit.

So here is a sneak peak at some of our products for the ACR Summer Show. You can spy some old favorites in new colors, and some new designs! Even pulled out a few vintage print blocks that we've never used before.

I set up for the booth in the house- it makes show-day set up quicker b/c I know
where everything should go.
The fuchsia design (center) and the floral merci (bottom right) are my favorites here.
I'm very excited about the show and can't wait to see those of you who can attend. See you then!

Cheers,
ashley

Weekend Work: Birthdays & Crowns

Saturdays are usually spent in the print room but I hosted a clothing swap party that night so printing didn't start until Sunday- makes for  hectic Sunday, but it was worth it!

Our first May event is next Saturday, the Violet Crown Festival. And so why not make some violet crown cards?

And we've been out of birthday cards for a LONG TIME. Using the same design from a Mother's Day card, now we have some! Dark purple bubbly background with our Mod text box. Fun.

Still working on building up our inventory for the Flea (on the 12th) and Renegade (the 19th-20th). If there's anything you'd like to see, please let us know.

Cheers!

Weekend Work: Orange & Black & Purring

Saturday was cool, breezy and cloudy- a perfect day to print! Had the doors and window open in the studio, the ipad streaming some netflix, and two stray kittens to visit me.

They're cute as hell, but I don't think either of them can set type or oil the press so... yeah.
If anyone's interested in adopting them, let me know! I'm sure their "owner" will be happy to get them homes. He's not very responsible i.m.o.  I think they're both girls, and they're very sweet, quiet, and like to be pet. Awwww...

Our Angry Kitties are pretty popular at shows- 4bar cards, all different colored card stocks, and people get to pick their card colors and envelope colors. Thought I might try my butterfly ladies like that, too. (If you look closely, you can see the body of the butterfly is a lady.)

These flourishes are so elegant, but then I go and print them in the ever so Austin-friendly "burnt orange." Now it's got more of a 'casual elegance' to it. Paired them with orange and purple envelopes. Don't know about you, but i love orange with purple.

Some friends got married in January (you can see their invitations HERE) and they need some more cards for thank you notes. This is a re-order of cards made for them last year. Orange is D's "signature color."

Made these for an upcoming show, the Violet Crown Festival (haha, almost typed "Violet Crown Affair"). The park where it takes place is in the middle of this zip code, and since it's a big neighborhood event, it only made sense.

Want cards with your zip code? Just ask!
Next weekend I'll be printing some purple, and also some custom cards. Should be a good day- cross your fingers for some nice printing-weather. I'm so not ready for the Texas heat! Even with the little A/C unit, it's still too hot in the studio. In the summer, it's really a good thing that I'm a morning person so I can get things done before the sun gets too high.

Cheers!

Scary Spiders and Cooler Temperatures

Got in the print shop at 7:30 this morning and when I turned on the a/c unit the current temp was 89! Half an hour later, came back in and it was a nice 80! After 2 hours of printing, the temp only got to 83- not bad!

It was a very successful printing morning...

...which led to some scary spiders:

I had this plate made back in January and am finally using it!
It printed far better than I expected- so nice when that happens.

It's downright elegant! Not scary at all.
Unless you *really* hate spiders.

And also:

4 bar cards with skulls ("Thanks" or "Hello")
A7 chandelier

Looking forward to tomorrow morning!

Quick and Painless Personalization

A couple weeks ago we had an etsy sale and the client wanted the items personalized, plus a set of cards with her friend's name only. We opened the boxed sets, printed the personalization with matching ink in the fonts selected by the client, and shipped them off quickly. She ordered Thursday night, printing was on Saturday, and they were shipped out on Monday.

When looking at our etsy page, if there's anything you'd like personalized, don't hesitate to ask. If we can do it, we gladly will. : )

We're giving away a single pink snowflake card. (These are sold in packs of 8 on Etsy.)

Enter in the comments: What's your favorite cold weather cocktail/mocktail?

Winner will be selected Friday morning. Good luck!

Busy Fall...

Hello! It's been forever since I've posted! Bad.

The press was running constantly (or so it felt) last weekend, printing out wedding invitations for 2 couples. Here's a picture of one of them! (The stationery, not the couple.)

Also, re-packaged some Thank You notes. These flats are now available with the envelopes you see here. Click on the picture to be taken to the store.

And what are we up to now? Well holiday things of course! Am finishing up a celebratory design, and pondering another. We'll get those printed in November.
