Another Nice Write-Up!

It's incredible how popular these little parking cards are! I guess our society (from Australia to the East Coast) is really fed up with people parking like jerks.

Here's another write up, from a stationery blogger from Massachusetts:

You can read Doug's post here.
And yes, if you order from inviting, you, too, will receive a handwritten note plus a little bonus gift. Sometimes I even decorate the envelope. Sometimes.
Don't forget, free domestic shipping with no order minimum this holiday season. Shop here.

Cheers,
ashley

Classy, Draped Invitations

We have a new wedding design, inspired by a photograph of a wedding cake that I stumbled upon.
The invitations are large, 6.75" squares and come with soft cotton, square 7" envelopes (extra postage is required). When invitees receive their invitations, they'll *know* they're being invited to something special!

Large, square invitation
Not only were reply cards/postcards designed, but also coasters, thank you cards, escort/table cards, and personalized stationery. Of course, you don't need to get married to order personalized coasters or cards!

A Type-Filled Weds Morning

I spent a few lovely hours in the studio this morning, selecting fonts to offer for Personalized Stationery; am working on catalog to take with me to shows so you can see the available styles & options, and place your orders then and there.

This is the selection, and I pulled the "&" when available- you don't want to order 'Ashley & Trent' cards if the ampersand is ugly, or not available in that font. Some of these have been on my list for a while but there are a few new additions:

Old Style 24pt is virgin type- This was the first time it had EVER been used.
It didn't have a name but the "l" looked familiar from the Typography video I shared earlier this week,
and so for now, it's called Old Style.

Also printed a sample for a new invitation design, now available in the shop.

When printing some stationery with that flourish, I though it'd make a pretty invitation.
Listened to my Pandora station for The Smiths while out there. I love little 80s dance parties while printing:

Cheers,
ashley

Chartreuse & Tangerine!

Not traditional colors for a wedding, but super-fun, no?

We had our first print-job from inviting affairs, who designed the card, and it went very well:

Hope the bride loves them!
I've been promised a sample of the completed set, and will post that once I get it. I'm very excited to see all the pieces.

Busy Fall...

Hello! It's been forever since I've posted! Bad.

The press was running constantly (or so it felt) last weekend, printing out wedding invitations for 2 couples. Here's a picture of one of them! (The stationery, not the couple.)

Also, re-packaged some Thank You notes. These flats are now available with the envelopes you see here. Click on the picture to be taken to the store.

And what are we up to now? Well holiday things of course! Am finishing up a celebratory design, and pondering another. We'll get those printed in November.

Are you Ready for Halloween?

We're ready for Halloween, how about you? (Yes, we're aware it's only August, but honestly, it will be here before we know it, and you need to be prepared.) : )

The type is handset Old English, for a gothtastic look. (Is that a word? Gothtastic? It should be.) For being so old, the type made beautifully crisp lines and left a lovely impression. See?

Cards are A2 sized, comes with matching envelopes (with smaller skull in upper corner), and are available in sets of 8 on our etsy page.

Printing Complete!

The Saturday-Work day started about 9am and we started with the invitations. The tree proved to be difficult, getting an even inking and strong punch (something we had to give up on- the leaves were not letting it happen), but the rest were fairly trouble free to print. Overall, we're quite happy with them!
I'm really pleased with how well the Edwardian Script printed. Very delicate!

Wedding Invitations

Some nice neighbors are getting married in the fall and we volunteered to do their wedding invitations. The only instruction we received was "a big tree would be nice."

Materials have been ordered and production should begin within 2 weeks.
