Galentines or Valentines, We've Got Your Cards!

Hello Friends!

A couple of dates for your radar:
                February 14 – Valentine’s Day
                February 13 – Galentine’s Day

Okay, so the second one isn’t an official holiday, but if either one of those has you thinking that you should order a gorgeous letterpress printed card for the occasion, now’s a great time. The post office sometimes takes their sweet time delivering packages, and you’d hate to be without a card, especially if you have to mail it somewhere else after you receive it, so best not to delay.

Click here to see the cards I think would be suitable for either date.

And in case you missed it in our latest release, this year’s Valentine’s Day design is:

I hope you find something that speaks to you and is perfect for your sweetie or friend. Happy shopping and thank you for all your support.

Cheers!

Happy Valentine's Day

However you celebrate (or don't), we hope you have a nice Valentine's day! Mr inviting and I will likely be "celebrating" how we always do: a large, delicious pizza, homemade chocolate covered strawberries, a movie and a bottle of sparkling wine. It's always a nice evening and I hope yours is, too.

Cheers,

Don't forget that the Austin Flea is on Saturday!

It's at Opal Divine's on S. Congress (yummy) and we'll be inside, in the ballroom.
You can look at the list of vendors here; there are some great ones and I want wait to shop.

If you're in the area, do swing by, say hi, and pick up some great locally-made or vintage items.

Friendship & Love, + Gift Tags

Friendship marks a life even more deeply than love.
Love risks degenerating into obsession,
friendship is never anything but sharing.
 -Elie Wiesel-

New to the shop, packs of 5
Perfect to tag gifts for kiddos, girl friends or coworkers with, these chipboard heart tags were printed in black ink and then hand colored in red or fuchsia. (It's things like this that make me wish I still worked in an office where I'd give little gifts to my friendly coworkers; this, Christmas, and Halloween. But only for a moment.)

I Was Born When You Kissed Me

I was born when you kissed me.
-Humphrey Bogart

Full quote is "I was born when you kissed me. I died when you left me. I lived a few weeks while you loved me." It's from the film In a Lonely Place which I'm really curious about now but it's not streaming.

This week's featured card, since it's so simple in design (deeply punched heart, deep fuchsia or matte gold) there's a little more emphasis on the written message:

Available in fuchsia or matte gold.
There's a website my brother likes called the Art of Manliness (i read it periodically- much information there is helpful for both sexes) and they had a post in 2009 about how to write a love letter. Here's the link. Hope you're inspired to fill a card with your words, for Valentine's Day or any day. Especially any day.

Cheers,
ashley

Valentines, simple & chic

For it was not into my ear you whispered,
but into my heart.
It was not my lips you kissed,
but my soul.
-Judy Garland

Perfect as a little gift, to tuck in with a larger one, or just for writing sweet notes yourself, these simple heart flat cards always make me smile. They're printed in bold fuchsia and each set of 3 comes with lined envelopes.

Petite pack of 3 cards with lined envelopes.

{Product Spotlight} You're My Favorite

 If you would be loved,
love, and be loveable.
-Benjamin Franklin

Notice a theme here? Until Valentine's Day, our Wednesday posts are going to feature a card appropriate for it. (Last week's featured card was our larger You Pierce My Soul.)

Fuchsia is one of the newer color offerings for this year.
This was our top seller for Valentine's Day last year, and we've already shipped quite a few this year! "You're my favorite and I love you" is something I say to Mr Inviting, and I thought it might make a cute card. Looks like some of you agree with me!

Cheers,
ashley

{Product Spotlight} You Pierce My Soul

If you're not familiar with Jane Austen's Persuasion, it's a quick read and you can read it {here}. There are also PBS adaptations worth watching; the 1995 version is available for streaming on Amazon Prime.

Printed in hand-mixed Tiffany Blue ink
Here is the letter that "You pierce my soul" comes from:

"Miss A. E.--,
"I can listen no longer in silence.  I must speak to you by such means as are within my reach.  You pierce my soul.  I am half agony, half hope.  Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings
are gone for ever.  I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own than when you almost broke it, eight years and a half ago.  Dare not say that man forgets sooner than  woman, that his love has an earlier death.  I have loved none but you. Unjust I may have been, weak and resentful I have been, but never inconstant.  You alone have brought me to Bath. For you alone, I think and plan.  Have you not seen this? Can you fail to have understood my wishes?  I had not waited even these ten days, could I have read your feelings, as I think you must have penetrated mine.  I can hardly write.  I am every instant hearing something which overpowers me.  You sink your voice, but I can distinguish the tones of that voice when they would be lost on others. Too good, too excellent creature!  You do us justice, indeed. You do believe that there is true attachment and constancy among men. Believe it to be most fervent, most undeviating, in F. W.
"I must go, uncertain of my fate; but I shall return hither, or follow your party, as soon as possible.  A word, a look, will be enough to decide whether I enter your father's house this evening or never."

How nice would that be: this card + a pretty copy of the book?

Cheers,
ashley

Bigger, Better, Faster, Stronger*

Spent the weekend not only printing custom orders, but photographing & editing Etsy listings.

Goals:
-to retake photos so that the background is consistent
-use a background that really shows off the cards without being un-inviting
-to have *everything* listed in the online shop

Here's a glimpse of the old look:
Custom Cards section, still needs to be re-photographed. Next weekend!

February 14th is coming up

Here is our first (proper) Valentine's Day collection!

At present, the xoxo patterned heart card is the only item available on Etsy, but others will be up this weekend. If you're in Austin, you can find most of these items at Flock Gifts, and all of them will be at the Austin Flea with us on 2/11.
