I had a few craft show customers ask if we carried any letter openers because they'd be great accessories for letter writers. The first time asked, I made note; the second time, I took action. Searched vintage sellers and came across a great selection, mostly hand-carved wooden ones, but some metal, bone, and one ivory (sold already, sorry).
Finally I'm getting them on the website so they can now make their worldwide appearance!
You can purchase them {here}. And there is more to come, so do check back periodically!
Cheers,
ashley

{Product Spotlight} You Pierce My Soul
If you're not familiar with Jane Austen's Persuasion, it's a quick read and you can read it {here}. There are also PBS adaptations worth watching; the 1995 version is available for streaming on Amazon Prime.
Here is the letter that "You pierce my soul" comes from:
"Miss A. E.--,
"I can listen no longer in silence. I must speak to you by such means as are within my reach. You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings
are gone for ever. I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own than when you almost broke it, eight years and a half ago. Dare not say that man forgets sooner than woman, that his love has an earlier death. I have loved none but you. Unjust I may have been, weak and resentful I have been, but never inconstant. You alone have brought me to Bath. For you alone, I think and plan. Have you not seen this? Can you fail to have understood my wishes? I had not waited even these ten days, could I have read your feelings, as I think you must have penetrated mine. I can hardly write. I am every instant hearing something which overpowers me. You sink your voice, but I can distinguish the tones of that voice when they would be lost on others. Too good, too excellent creature! You do us justice, indeed. You do believe that there is true attachment and constancy among men. Believe it to be most fervent, most undeviating, in F. W.
"I must go, uncertain of my fate; but I shall return hither, or follow your party, as soon as possible. A word, a look, will be enough to decide whether I enter your father's house this evening or never."
How nice would that be: this card + a pretty copy of the book?
Cheers,
ashley

Now don't hate me while I break my rule and set up the Christmas tree *before* Thanksgiving. It feels so wrong, but once Thanksgiving hits, there won't be any time.
Happy shopping!

Newest Offering- Stationery Package
This is something I've been working on for a while and am very excited to finally share it with you!
Using Emily Post's correspondence notes as a guideline, these are the items I feel make up the ultimate stationery kit:
Flat stationery, flat correspondence cards, folded informals, and gift enclosures.
Three different weights of cotton paper are used for these: our standard 110lb flat card, text weight, and the newer 90lb weight used for the informals. All come with matching cotton envelopes.
A modern monogram is shown, as is a classic text version on the store page. I'll include more examples on the listing as they are made.
Of course the most appropriate ink colors are black, gray, brown, and navy, but I don't see why fuchsia can't be done, too!
The flat, personal sheets are great for more formal correspondence or professional letters (and can go through a typewriter for that vintage charm/to conceal your messy handwriting). Folded informals are perfect for a short note, response to RSVP, or a thank you note. The flat correspondence cards, for when you need a little more space than the informals offer, but it's less formal than the personal sheets tend towards. And the enclosure cards, to tuck in with a gift with no message, or a short message written at the top. (If your note requires more space, use an informal.)
Really loving these, and I'm trying to open a wholesale account with a company that makes a box perfect for storing these on a shelf or desk, making them not only a fantastic addition to your stationery (and with enough space that you can store ALL your letterpress printed stationery & cards in it), but also a wonderful gift. Will keep you all posted on that.
Prices for this package, 25 of each item plus extra blank sheets for the stationery, start at $165. Production time is about two weeks.
Are you as excited as I am? Can't wait to print them for you!
Cheers,
ashley

Lots of New Colors...
Before working on a job today I brought my "new" inks into the studio. Had to rearrange a few things to make room!
Their previous owner had similar ink-taste to mine- we have a few duplicates! I've always printed with oil-based inks (it's what I was taught with) but now have some rubber-based and even a soy to print with. Looking forward to the cooler weather so I can finish painting the studio, get things reorganized, and try out these new inks! If Friday's project is delayed, I may spend the morning in there. At the moment it should be in the 80s and t-stormy. Perfect!
Ordering a plate tomorrow so expect to see some new designs soon!
But until then, our latest birthday card is now available at the store:

This Saturday, June 8th, will be our first time at a Maker Faire! Pretty excited about it, even though I'm behind on new card production due to AWESOME wedding printing. We'll see what I can do on Friday morning, before it gets too hot.
Also, we've got newly printed Father's Day cards. They'll be at the Mini Maker Faire and are also available on Etsy. (Father's Day is June 16th so you'll need to get your card ordered and sent out quickly.
Hoping that we'll see you in Round Rock on Saturday!

Bastille Day Sale
Starting tonight, and ending when I get out of bed on Friday (about 6am, central), prices on our french-inspired stationery are reduced by 20%. Woohoo!
If you're like me, maybe you start purchasing holiday gifts in the summer to make the winter less stressful. The damasks and Eiffel Towers would be perfect, and they come in an easy to wrap box. The coasters make great host/ess gifts. And the Mercis are just good to have in your stationery draw. You can never have too many thank you cards. Some of the Mercis come with lined envelopes, too. Tres chic!
Have a great night, and happy shopping!

Coming Up: SALE! Oui, oui!
This Thursday, the 14th, all french-inspired items will be on sale (14% off) in our etsy shop.
Yup, all these guys will be on sale:
I've just about got everything listed. Been re-taking photos all morning. Not thrilling work (would rather be printing) but it is necessary. Spent some time yesterday adding liners to some envelopes. Really added the WOW factor to a few of these (like the Bonjour petite packs). The Merci singles, on the right, have special origami paper linings.
Mark your calendars and stock up on some lovely french-inspired items.
Have a great day!
